Notes

Shared Note
Susannah Green Slawson spent the majority of her life residing in the area of Pound Ridge, Westchester county, which is adjacent to New York City. While her husband, Amos was still alive, the census records indicate that they lived in Pound Ridge. In approximetly 1819, there oldest daughter, Elsie, relocated to Steuben county, with her husband, Thomas Brush. Also, at some time before 1830, another daughter Nancy, moved to Steuben county with her husband Elisha Avery Jr. Amos Slawson passed away in 1830. The census image for 1830, shows Susannah living in South Salem, with a younger couple, both between 20 and 30 years old, though Susannah is listed as the head of the household. South Salem is adjacent to Pound Ridge. By 1840 Susannah ‎(listed as Susan)‎ is back in Pound Ridge, and literally surrounded by her family. One of her immediate neighbors, was her son Eli. On the other side was her adult daughter, Charlotte. Charlotte was married to Cyrus Little. Three doors down from Susannah lives another son-in-law Allen Roscoe. Allen was married to Sally Ann Slawson, who died in 1834. By 1850, Susannah has passed away, but she is buried in Urbana, Steuben county, New York.
She is buried in the Free Baptist cemetery, there, along with Charlotte and Cyrus Little. It seems most likely that Susannah would have emigrated to Urbana along with the Little family.

Amos Slawson was a Revolutionary War veteran. He served in the Second regiment of the Westchester county militia. Treasury department records show that Susannah recieved pension payments in New York city, based on Amos' service to his country. The records show that each March and September from 1836 to 1848, Susannah accepted these pension payments. Therefore, it seems likely, that Susannah Slawson and the Little family, would have moved to Steuben county, sometime after September of 1848.
